AVD Consulting helps hotels understand where operations and technology are not working together, identify what is causing the problem, and turn that into practical action. Adele van Dyk has spent more than 30 years in hospitality, beginning in hotel operations before moving into hotel technology, PMS and financial systems implementation, technology leadership and consulting. She has led and supported more than 150 hotel and resort system implementations across the United States, Caribbean and United Kingdom, working directly with general managers, department heads, operations and finance teams through implementation planning, configuration, financial setup, system conversion, training, readiness and go-live. She later moved to the operator side, leading a 38-person technology operation supporting the seven-property Rosen Hotels group in Orlando, which gave her experience of both delivering technology and living with the operational reality after go-live. Her expertise covers property management systems, hotel financial and accounting systems, front office and reservations, housekeeping workflows, night audit and operational controls, accounts receivable and payable, group billing and revenue flows, chart of accounts and financial reporting, interfaces and integrations, data conversions, and training and user adoption. The work is not tied to a particular PMS or technology vendor. Adele is also a Certified Xero Advisor and Xero Migration Specialist, and holds the HDI Support Center Director credential. More recently she has completed Stayntouch training and has been working with HTI. Her positioning is deliberately vendor-neutral: the strength is in hotel operations and the systems that support them, rather than any one platform.
